教育部最新統計指出，2006年各級校園事件多達1萬4638件，比前一年減少1190件，顯示強化校園安全的通報與安全教育，已經發揮功效；不過統計顯示，校園安全維護、暴力事件與偏差行為等事件，佔所有校園事件的五分之一，共有3116件，比前一年的百分之14點8，提高了6個百分點。
According to the latest Ministry of Education statistics, there were a total 14,638 campus security alarms at schools of all levels in 2006. The number is down by 1,190 compared to the 2005 figure, which shows that alarm network and security education have been successful. However, one fifth (3,116) of the alarms involved violence, security, and misconduct, which is 6% higher than 14.8% of the previous year.

   教育部積極推展「法治教育」，去年與法務部合作，在各級學校舉辦了2000多場宣導活動，希望法治教育在校園裡扎根，本週出刊的教育部電子報將報導三所推展法治教育成效卓著的學校。校園趴趴go單元介紹的是宜蘭縣原住民部落的寒溪國小，透過兒童閱讀計畫的推展，讓這些原住民小朋友更喜歡閱讀。
The Ministry of Education actively cooperated with the Ministry of Justice in promoting justice education last year and conducted more than 2000 promotional events at schools of all levels. The cover story of this week’s issue of the Ministry of Education e-paper features three schools with outstanding justice education performance. The Go Campus column features a campaign launched by 寒溪 Elementary School in the tribal areas of 宜蘭 County to promote reading among indigenous children.
